Damien Meslot is a French politician who has served as the Mayor of Belfort since 2014 and as the President of the Grand Belfort agglomeration community. A long-time member of the RPR and later the UMP and The Republicans, he previously served as a member of the French National Assembly for the Territoire de Belfort from 2002 to 2017. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in local politics, known for his conservative stance and his involvement in various legislative and municipal initiatives. In 2023, he was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour for his decades of public service.
