Marie Mercier

Marie Mercier is a French politician and general practitioner who has served as a Senator for Saône-et-Loire since 2015. She made history as the first woman from her department to serve in the French Senate. Prior to her national parliamentary career, she served as the mayor of Châtenoy-le-Royal from 2001 to 2017, stepping down to comply with laws limiting the accumulation of mandates. Additionally, she has held roles within the Grand Chalon intercommunal structure and served as a regional councillor for Burgundy. A member of The Republicans, she has been a consistent figure in local and national politics for over two decades.
