She assumed office on December 1, 2020, after succeeding her former mentor, Rosita Youngblood. Prior to her election to the state legislature, Parker worked as a legislative assistant. She is a graduate of Lankenau Environmental Science Magnet High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bennett College.
