David Friess

David Friess is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 116th district since 2021. Born in Southern Illinois and raised in Chester, he served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer during the Gulf War. Following his military service, he worked for Delta Air Lines before pursuing a legal career, earning a Juris Doctor from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. Friess resides in Red Bud with his family and is active in local community organizations.
