David Masondo

David Masondo is a South African politician currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Finance, a position he has held since 2019. A member of the African National Congress (ANC) and the South African Communist Party (SACP), he has been a prominent figure in youth politics, having served as the inaugural chairperson of the Young Communist League. Masondo holds a PhD in Sociology from New York University and has previously worked as a lecturer and in provincial government roles in Limpopo and Gauteng. He is recognized for his focus on political economy and industrial policy, and he currently serves as the principal of the ANC's O. R. Tambo School of Leadership.
