David Ray Meade is an American politician serving as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives for the 80th district since 2013. A member of the Republican Party, he has held the position of Speaker pro tempore of the Kentucky House of Representatives since 2019. Meade is widely recognized for his legislative leadership in child welfare, having spearheaded comprehensive reforms to Kentucky's foster care and adoption systems, including the passage of House Bill 1 in 2018. Outside of his political career, he is a managing broker at Lincoln Realty and Auction Company.
