David Weytsman

Profile

David Weytsman is a Belgian politician affiliated with the liberal Reformist Movement (MR). Born in Liège, he studied commercial engineering at HEC Liège Management School and earned a master's degree in European economics from the College of Europe in Bruges. After working as a consultant and lobbyist in sustainable energy, he transitioned full-time into politics, serving in various advisory roles for high-ranking figures such as Didier Reynders and Charles Michel, as well as leading the youth wing of the Brussels MR federation. Weytsman became a municipal councilor in Brussels in 2012, later serving as an alderman and chairing the MR group on the municipal council. He also served as a member of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region from 2018 until February 2025, when he resigned to assume the presidency of the Public Centre for Social Welfare (OCMW) in the City of Brussels. In April 2026, he became president of the MR federation for the Brussels-Capital region.
