Dawn Primarolo is a British Labour Party politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2015. Previously, she was the Member of Parliament for Bristol South from 1987 to 2015, during which time she held several ministerial positions, including Paymaster General and Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families. She also served as a Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons from 2010 to 2015. Throughout her career, she transitioned from a hard-left political stance to a New Labour loyalist, supporting policies such as the renewal of the Trident nuclear deterrent and the Iraq War.
