Dayanidhi Maran

Dayanidhi Maran is an Indian politician and a prominent member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. He has served multiple terms as a Member of Parliament for the Chennai Central constituency, having been elected in 2004, 2009, 2019, and 2024. Previously, he served as the Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, where he was credited with significantly expanding India's telecommunications infrastructure and reducing call rates. Maran comes from a notable political family, being the son of former Union Minister Murasoli Maran and the grandnephew of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
