Deborah Mlongo Barasa is a Kenyan physician, infectious diseases expert, and politician currently serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry. She previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Health from August 2024 to April 2025. Before her appointment to the Kenyan cabinet, she worked as an infectious diseases consultant at the World Health Organization hub in Nairobi and practiced as an internal medicine physician at various medical facilities. She graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, as well as a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine.
