Delia Ramirez is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 3rd congressional district since 2023. Before her election to Congress, she served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2018 to 2023, where she was a prominent advocate for housing stability, criminal justice reform, and healthcare access for undocumented residents. A member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Ramirez is the first Guatemalan American elected to the Illinois General Assembly and the first United Methodist Latina in Congress. Her legislative work has focused on social service advocacy, homelessness prevention, and economic equity.
