Dimitris Koutsoumpas

Dimitris Koutsoumpas is a Greek communist politician who has served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) since 2013. Born in Lamia in 1955, he became involved in political activism during the Athens Polytechnic uprising against the military junta in 1973. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles within the KKE, including serving as the director of the party newspaper Rizospastis. Since January 2015, he has been a member of the Hellenic Parliament, where he continues to advocate for communist policies and popular mobilization.
