Doly Begum is a Canadian politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Scarborough Southwest since 2026. Born in Bangladesh and raised in Toronto, she previously served as a Member of Provincial Parliament for the Ontario New Democratic Party from 2018 to 2026, where she was the first Bangladeshi-Canadian elected to a legislative body in Canada. During her provincial tenure, she held roles including deputy leader of the Ontario NDP and Official Opposition critic for immigration services. She transitioned to federal politics in 2026, winning the Scarborough Southwest by-election as a Liberal Party candidate.
