Dorinda Cox is an Australian politician serving as a Senator for Western Australia since 2021. A Yamatji and Noongar woman, she made history as the first Indigenous woman to represent Western Australia in the Senate. Initially appointed to fill a casual vacancy for the Australian Greens, she later defected to the Labor Party in 2025. Throughout her career, she has been a prominent advocate for First Nations rights, including the establishment of inquiries into missing and murdered Indigenous women, and has focused on policies regarding family violence, cultural heritage, and environmental protection.
