Doris Bures

Doris Bures is an Austrian politician and a long-standing member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). Currently serving as a Member of the National Council, she previously held the position of President of the Austrian National Council from 2014 to 2024. Throughout her extensive career, Bures served as the Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology from 2008 to 2014 and held various ministerial portfolios, including Women and Media. Known for her work on social issues and her role in organizing the 2016 state act regarding historical abuse in state institutions, she remains a prominent figure in Austrian parliamentary politics.
