Christoph Matznetter

Christoph Matznetter is an Austrian politician and member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). He has served multiple terms in the Austrian National Council, most recently assuming office again in March 2026. Throughout his career, he has held significant roles including State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance from 2007 to 2008 and interim federal manager of the SPÖ. A trained tax advisor and auditor, Matznetter holds a doctorate in philosophy and has been a prominent figure in economic policy and parliamentary committees, including serving as chair of the Foreign Policy Committee.
