Michaela Schmidt is an Austrian politician serving as State Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport since April 2025. A member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), she previously served as a member of the Austrian National Council from 2023 to 2025, where she acted as the parliamentary spokesperson for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Before entering national politics, she held leadership roles at the Chamber of Labour in Salzburg and was active in the SPÖ's state education committee. Schmidt holds master's degrees in Business Informatics and Economics from the University of Linz.
