Douglas McAllister

Douglas McAllister is a Scottish Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for West Dunbartonshire since July 2024. Before his election to the UK Parliament, he had a long career in local government, serving as a councillor for the Kilpatrick Ward for 23 years and as the Provost of West Dunbartonshire Council for 7 years. Professionally, McAllister is a lawyer who spent 27 years working as a defence solicitor. He also contested the Clydebank and Milngavie seat in the 2021 Scottish Parliament elections.
