Edgar González Jr. is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 23rd District. Born and raised in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, he graduated from Harvard University before beginning his political career as a constituency services liaison for Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García. Appointed to the state legislature in 2020, he became the youngest state representative in Illinois history at the time. González focuses on labor rights, workplace safety, and economic fairness, having successfully sponsored legislation such as the Temp Worker Fairness and Safety Act. He currently serves as an Assistant Majority Leader and Floor Whip for the Democratic caucus.
