Edith Schippers

Edith Schippers is a Dutch politician and businesswoman who served as the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport from 2010 to 2017. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), she previously served in the House of Representatives and later returned to national politics as a Senator and parliamentary leader in 2023. Throughout her career, she held significant roles in healthcare policy and corporate leadership, including as President of DSM Netherlands. She retired from the Senate in January 2025 to become the CEO of the pharmaceutical wholesaler Mosadex.
