Shirin Musa

Shirin Musa is a Pakistani-born Dutch politician and women's rights activist who serves as a member of the Senate of the Netherlands. She is the founder of the organization Femmes for Freedom and is widely recognized for her advocacy work regarding women's rights, specifically for introducing the concept of marital captivity into the Dutch public discourse. Following a personal legal struggle to end her own religious marriage, she has dedicated her career to addressing similar issues for other women. She was sworn into the Senate on September 23, 2025, representing the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy.
