He previously served as the Minister of Health from 2020 to 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period marked by significant controversy regarding his management of the health crisis and the promotion of unproven treatments. Before his ministerial role, he coordinated Operation Reception for Venezuelan refugees in Roraima and served as the Secretary of Finance for the state of Roraima.
