永藤英機

Hideki Nagafuji is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Sakai, a position he has held since 2019. Before his election as mayor, he served two terms as a member of the Osaka Prefectural Assembly. A graduate of the Osaka Prefecture University, Nagafuji previously worked as a systems engineer and a financial planner. Throughout his mayoral tenure, he has focused on fiscal reform, including the declaration of a financial crisis in 2021 and the implementation of various cost-cutting measures, such as the cancellation of planned public facilities and the adjustment of municipal subsidies. He was re-elected for a second term in 2023.
