鈴木英敬

Eikei Suzuki is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Mie 4th district. A former bureaucrat at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, he served as the Governor of Mie Prefecture for three terms from 2011 to 2021, becoming the youngest incumbent governor in Japan at the time of his initial election. Suzuki is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and has held various leadership roles, including Chairman of the LDP General Council. Politically, he supports constitutional amendment, including the explicit mention of the Self-Defense Forces in the constitution, and advocates for the possession of counterstrike capabilities. He is known for his focus on regional revitalization and digital policy, having implemented a partnership oath system for same-sex couples during his tenure as governor.
