Elizabeth Barker, Baroness Barker is a British Liberal Democrat peer and a member of the House of Lords. Educated at Dalziel High School and the University of Southampton, she spent much of her early career working for the charity Age Concern. Created a life peer in 1999, she serves as a Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chairman of Committees in the House of Lords. Barker is a prominent advocate for LGBT rights and social enterprise, serving as a patron or ambassador for several charities and co-chairing multiple All-Party Parliamentary Groups focused on health and sexual equality.
