Elke Hanel-Torsch is an Austrian politician and member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). Since March 2026, she has served as the City Councilor for Housing and Women in the Vienna city government. Prior to her current role, she was a member of the National Council from 2024 to 2026 and held various leadership positions within the Tenants' Association of Vienna. She has also been active in local politics in the Margareten district, where she served as district party chair.
