Ellen Sandell is an Australian politician and environmentalist who has served as the leader of the Victorian Greens since April 2024. Born in Alice Springs, she moved to Mildura as a child and later graduated from the University of Melbourne with degrees in arts and science. Before entering parliament, she was a prominent climate activist, serving as the national director of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and working as a policy adviser for the Victorian government. First elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly in 2014 to represent the seat of Melbourne, she has been a vocal advocate for environmental policy and social justice issues, including support for pro-Palestinian advocacy.
