A member of the Pour La Réunion (PLR) party, he previously served as a municipal councillor and first deputy mayor under Huguette Bello. In 2020, he was elected president of the Territoire de la Côte Ouest. Known for his commitment to local development and territorial planning, he made history in 2026 by becoming the first left-wing mayor to retain his seat in the commune of Saint-Paul.
