Emmerson Mnangagwa

Emmerson Mnangagwa is a Zimbabwean politician serving as the President of Zimbabwe since 2017. A longtime ally of former president Robert Mugabe, he previously held several high-ranking cabinet positions including Minister of State Security, Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, and First Vice-President before assuming the presidency following a military coup. He is a prominent figure in the ruling ZANU–PF party and leads its internal faction known as Lacoste.
