Eric Weaknecht

Eric Weaknecht is an American politician and former law enforcement officer currently serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 5th district, having assumed office in 2025. Prior to his legislative career, he served as the sheriff of Berks County, Pennsylvania, from 2008 to 2024, beginning his tenure in the sheriff's office in 1984. Politically, Weaknecht is a Republican who opposes sanctuary city policies and red flag laws, advocating for the enforcement of existing gun regulations rather than the creation of new ones.
