Erin Gamez

Erin Gámez is an American politician serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 38, representing parts of Cameron County and Brownsville. Elected in a 2022 special election, she made history as the first woman to represent the district and was the youngest member of the 87th Legislature at the time. An attorney by profession, Gámez has served as a defense attorney for the Cameron County Mental Health Diversion Court and was a House impeachment manager during the 2023 trial of Attorney General Ken Paxton. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus and holds committee assignments in General Investigating, Natural Resources, and Transportation.
