Hilarion Etong is a Cameroonian politician and academic serving as the First Vice-President of the National Assembly of Cameroon. Born in Mbeti in the Centre Region of Cameroon, he pursued extensive legal studies at the University of Yaoundé and the University of Bordeaux I, where he earned a doctorate in public law. Before his prominent political career, he worked as a law assistant and lecturer at the University of Yaoundé, as well as holding administrative positions at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). Affiliated with the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, he has been a Member of Parliament since 1992 and was re-elected as First Vice-President of the National Assembly in 2024.
