Fabien Gay

Fabien Gay is a French politician and journalist who has served as a Senator for Seine-Saint-Denis since 2017. Born in Bordeaux to a working-class family, he became involved in the French Communist Party and the Young Communists movement during his university studies. Before his election to the Senate, he held various roles in the media sector, notably serving as the director of the Fête de l'Humanité and later becoming the director of the newspaper L'Humanité in 2021. In the Senate, he is a member of the Committee on Economic Affairs, where he focuses on industrial policy, energy, and the defense of public services. He is known for his advocacy against free-trade agreements like CETA and his efforts to improve economic support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
