Farah Karimi

Farah Karimi is an Iranian-Dutch politician and member of the Senate of the Netherlands, representing the GreenLeft party since 2019. Born in Iran, she was involved in the resistance against the Shah before seeking political asylum in Germany and later settling in the Netherlands. Karimi previously served in the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006, where she focused on foreign affairs, human rights, and international law. Beyond her parliamentary career, she has held leadership roles in humanitarian organizations, including serving as the executive director of Oxfam Novib, and has authored several books on international conflict and human rights.
