Ilona Lagas

Ilona Lagas is a Dutch politician currently serving as a member of the Senate of the Netherlands and as the parliamentary leader for the Farmer–Citizen Movement (BBB). Born in Zwolle, she previously held various local government roles, including serving as an alderwoman in Ommen, where she managed portfolios such as spatial planning and economic affairs. Originally a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), she left the party in 2021 due to disagreements over agricultural policy and rural representation. Before her political career, she worked in a hospital laboratory and as a teacher in vocational education.
