Ferat Koçak

Profile

Ferat Koçak is a German politician of Kurdish-Alevi descent who has served as a member of the German Bundestag since 2025, representing the Berlin-Neukölln constituency. Previously, he served in the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin from 2021 to 2025. A self-described "movement leftist," Koçak is deeply involved in anti-racist, anti-fascist, and climate justice activism. His political career has been marked by his vocal opposition to right-wing extremism, particularly following a 2018 arson attack on his family home linked to the "Neukölln complex" of neo-Nazi violence. He holds a degree in economics from the Free University of Berlin and previously worked in management and digital marketing before entering politics.
