Flamur Golemi

Flamur Golemi is an Albanian politician and physician currently serving as the Mayor of Gjirokastër. Born in Fushëbardhë, he earned a degree in medicine from the University of Tirana in 2002 and specialized in ophthalmology in 2008. Before entering politics, he worked as a doctor in Gjirokastër and as an ophthalmologist in Athens. A member of the Socialist Party since 2012, he served as a member of the Albanian Parliament from 2017 until 2019, when he resigned to successfully run for mayor. He was re-elected for a second term in 2023.
