Florbela Malaquias

Florbela Malaquias is an Angolan politician, lawyer, and journalist who currently serves as a member of the National Assembly of Angola. She is the founder and leader of the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), which she established in 2020. A former member of UNITA and a veteran of the Angolan Civil War, she later became a vocal critic of the movement's leadership. Malaquias gained national prominence as the only female presidential candidate in the 2022 Angolan general election, where she campaigned on a platform focused on humanizing the country and advocating for women's rights.
