Floyd L. Griffin Jr. is an American politician and retired U.S. Army colonel currently serving as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives for the 149th district, having assumed office in January 2025. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he previously served as the mayor of Milledgeville, Georgia, from 2002 to 2006 and represented the 25th district in the Georgia State Senate from 1995 to 1999. Throughout his career, Griffin has been a prominent figure in Georgia politics, notably becoming the first African American to win a majority-Caucasian district in the Georgia State Senate since the Reconstruction era. He is also a funeral director and the author of the autobiography 'Legacy to Legend: Winners: Make it Happen'.
