François Patriat

François Patriat is a French politician currently serving as a member of the French Senate representing the Côte-d'Or department. A veterinarian by training, he began his political career in the Socialist Party, serving as a deputy and holding ministerial positions, including Secretary of State for SMEs and Minister of Agriculture under Lionel Jospin. In 2016, he became one of the early and most prominent supporters of Emmanuel Macron. He currently chairs the Rassemblement des démocrates, progressistes et indépendants group in the Senate, a position he has held since 2017.
