Francesco Persiani is an Italian politician and lawyer who currently serves as the Mayor of Massa. Born in La Spezia in 1965, he moved to Massa in 1988 and established a career as a criminal defense attorney, eventually becoming the president of the penal chamber of the Massa-Carrara province in 2016. He was first elected mayor in 2018 as the candidate of a center-right coalition, becoming the first center-right mayor in the city's history. After a brief interruption in his mandate in 2023 due to a no-confidence vote, he was re-elected to the office later that same year.
