Gabriel Lazany is a Romanian politician currently serving as the Mayor of Bistrița. He assumed office in November 2024 following his victory in the local elections held in June 2024, where he represented the Social Democratic Party (PSD). Prior to his election as mayor, he was active in local administration and public service within the Bistrița-Năsăud region. As mayor, he has focused on urban development and fostering international partnerships, including initiatives to integrate the city into the UNESCO network of creative cities.
