Elected during the 2025 Australian federal election, he made history as the first Labor Party candidate to win the seat, defeating the incumbent Keith Wolahan. Prior to his entry into federal politics, Ng worked as a lawyer and served in the public sector. He grew up in Doncaster and continues to reside in the local area with his family.
