Gagan Thapa

Gagan Kumar Thapa is a prominent Nepali politician currently serving as the president of the Nepali Congress. A long-time advocate for democratic reform and youth engagement, he rose to prominence as a student leader and democracy activist during the movement against the royal regime in the mid-2000s. Thapa has served as a member of parliament multiple times and held the position of Minister of Health from 2016 to 2017, where he was noted for his efforts to expand health insurance coverage.
