Gaston Eloundou Essomba is a Cameroonian politician and economist who has served as the Minister of Water and Energy since March 2018. Before his ministerial appointment, he held significant roles in the public sector, including serving as the Director General of the Cameroonian Petroleum Depots Company (SCDP) starting in 2009 and as the Director of Economic Analysis at the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development. A member of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, he has been active in the party's leadership, serving as the president of the Méfou-et-Akono South-West section and as a member of the central committee. He also holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kribi Power Development Company.
