George Seymour

George Seymour is an Australian politician currently serving as the Mayor of the Fraser Coast Region in Queensland. First elected to the council in 2012 as a Division 10 Councillor, he served as Deputy Mayor from 2013 until his election as Mayor in a 2018 by-election. He has since been re-elected in 2020 and 2024. Prior to his political career, Seymour worked as a solicitor, a disability support worker, and managed a youth homeless shelter. He is also an author who has written extensively on the history and architecture of Maryborough and the Fraser Coast region. As Mayor, he has focused on economic diversification, infrastructure development, and disaster management, notably leading the region's response to major flooding events.
