Gerald Jones

Gerald Jones is a Welsh Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare since 2024, having previously represented Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney since 2015. Before his election to the House of Commons, he was a long-serving councillor for Caerphilly County Borough Council, where he held roles including Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing. During his parliamentary career, Jones has served in various shadow ministerial positions, including Shadow Minister for Wales, Shadow Defence Minister, and Shadow Minister for Scotland, as well as holding the role of Assistant Government Whip.
