Gigyo Takamatsu is a Japanese politician and Buddhist monk currently serving as the Mayor of Motomiya City in Fukushima Prefecture. He graduated from Taisho University and previously worked at the Motomiya Town office for five years. Before his mayoral career, he served three terms as a member of the Motomiya Town Assembly and two terms as a member of the Motomiya City Assembly, where he also held the position of the city's first assembly chair. First elected as mayor in 2011, he has since secured four consecutive terms, including two victories by acclamation in 2019 and 2023.
