Gilad Kariv is an Israeli politician, attorney, and Reform rabbi serving as a member of the Knesset. A prominent advocate for religious pluralism and social justice, he previously led the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism and the Israel Religious Action Center. Kariv has been a vocal proponent of separating religious institutions from state bodies and expanding egalitarian prayer rights in Israel. Since his election to the Knesset in 2021, he has chaired the Committee for Immigration, Absorption, and Diaspora Affairs and has been a consistent critic of policies he views as undermining democratic norms or international law.
