Gillian Merron

Gillian Merron is a British politician and life peer serving as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Patient Safety, Women's Health and Mental Health since 2024. A member of the Labour Party, she previously served as the Member of Parliament for Lincoln from 1997 to 2010, holding various ministerial positions in the Blair and Brown governments. Beyond her parliamentary career, she has held leadership roles in the Jewish community, including serving as Chief Executive of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. She was conferred a life peerage in 2021 and continues to be an active figure in British public life.
